Our conscious self is drawn to the positive qualities we yearn for, but our unconscious draws us to the qualities which remind us of how we were wounded the most.

women are told to beware of strange men to carry the purse in front of them to meet new people in public areas & so forth because of MEN. because we aren’t taught what is wrong with a harassing malevolent nature…women are taught to beware & be afraid. to stand clear. but where is the lesson for men? self defense for women eh? no self-sense class for men.
i shouldn’t have to defend myself. i shouldn’t. could i defend myself even with lessons? sometimes the other person is just too strong or has a weapon or threatens you in other ways.
i’m not saying do away with lessons. sure they are in place for good measure
i’m saying where’s the accountability
teach the victim not the one who victimizes who gets away with humiliating or dehumanizing. ha!

it’s empowering it’s liberating learning such methods of protection, but you still go around with fear with doubts with mistrust with the unhappiness of being fondled & shouted at & gawked at. with the idea that men are going to do this for the rest of your life & judge you at every corner with lusty eyes or scornful displeasure… with commentary on your foreign frame. the world works this way. the world shouldn’t. we don’t need to approach life as… that’s the way it goes… get over it. no. that’s wrong. that’s ignoring where the real problem is. within the mind & actions of the men who think they can do whatever they like. who think they can just because they can without consequence.
